How AI is Redefining Pharma: From Operations to Engagement

La French Tech Athens hosted this insightful event at the Embassy of France in Greece. Highlights from the discussion:
- Industry insights from Servier Hellas and Lavipharm on real-world operational challenges and opportunities for AI adoption.
- Academic perspective on the data and infrastructure shaping the next wave of innovation.
- Startup agility showcased by Juisci, reminding us how fast-moving players can accelerate transformation, and how trust remains the essential foundation for deploying AI in healthcare.

Mistral AI in Athens

During their visit to Athens in November 2025, Mistral AI announced a new collaboration with the Greek government to deploy the Mistral AI for Citizen framework — strengthening Greece’s strategic autonomy, boosting public-sector innovation, and accelerating AI research. Arthur Mensch also met with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to discuss the future of AI in Europe. This was coordinated by the Ambassade de France en Grèce, Service économique régional d’Europe du Sud-Est and La French Tech Athens.

The Intelligent Economy: Turning Innovation into Impact

La French Tech Athens and the MBA International, AUEB co-hosted a great discussion on innovation and energy transformation in October 2025. We gained fresh insight into how emerging technologies are transforming the global energy landscape. Our diverse panel of leaders showcased different perspectives from innovators, executives, and academics driving the next phase of the energy transition.

Networking Event - September 2025

La French Tech Athens hosted a networking event on the rooftop of The Modernist Athens. It was a great opportunity to reconnect after the summer, and to welcome new members of the French community who have recently arrived in Athens.

French Tech Athens was proud to support this year’s Raoul Tour, as the Agence Raoul chose Greece as its destination to explore one of Europe’s most dynamic emerging tech ecosystems. During their immersion in Athens, participants discovered a fast-growing innovation landscape powered by more than 1,000 startups, rising global success stories, and a strong national ambition to scale the tech sector in the years ahead. Guided by our President, Guy Krief, the delegation met with leading founders, major VCs, public-sector stakeholders, and even the Prime Minister — gaining firsthand insight into Greece’s accelerating transformation. The tour confirmed a clear trend: Greece is writing a new chapter in its economic story, driven by a changing mindset, attractive policies for talent and investors, an active diaspora, and a growing collective momentum.

Vivatech 2025 Side-Event, bringing together the Presidents of the European French Tech Communities. The evening featured a top European startup pitch competition, insights from leading VCs and accelerators, and a lively networking cocktail. A prime opportunity to connect with founders, investors, corporates, and the French Tech community across Europe.

Selling Tech to Greek Shipping Companies

This event, held as part of the French Maritime Days (May 2025) by Business France Greece, sparked great conversations on how tech innovators can approach the Greek shipping sector, all with a stunning rooftop view of Athens

Delphi Economic Forum 2025

At the Delphi Economic Forum, the French Embassy in Greece in collaboration with La French Tech Athens hosted a panel on how France’s AI strategy could serve as a model for broader European collaboration. The discussion focused on:
• France’s AI strategy as a model for Europe
• Opportunities for cross-border research, talent mobility, and shared infrastructure
• How countries like Greece can build on this momentum to grow local AI ecosystems

Breakfast Discussion on with Luc Julia

We had the honor of hosting Dr. Luc JULIA, a pioneer in AI and co-creator of Siri, for a breakfast discussion on AI at the French Embassy in Athens. The conversation covered a range of topics, including Europe’s role in AI and how AI can collaborate with—not replace—human intelligence.

Thriving in an AI-driven future

This event explored the evolving dynamic between human skills and AI capabilities and was our most successful event yet. It featured a live cocktail-making competition between a professional mixologist and an AI-driven recipe formulation platform. Additionally, a panel discussion with leaders from French and Greek AI companies provided insights into the essential skills required to thrive in an AI-dominated world.

In June 2024, La French Tech Athens hosted the "Breaking Records, Building Ventures" event at the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This event aimed to bridge the worlds of sports and technology, achieving tremendous success and drawing substantial participation. Prominent athletes, including Moustapha Fall (basketball player for Olympiacos and the French National Team), Tatiana Gusin (Greek high jump champion), Grigoris Polychronidis (Paralympic champion in boccia), and Georgia Chalatsogianni (football player for PAOK and the Greek National Team), attended. Startups specializing in sports technology also participated, including MyTeam, Workearly, Run4More, and Kinvent.

Decoding Failure, Unfiltered Talks

In March 2024, the French Embassy hosted the event "Decoding Failure, Unfiltered Talks". This inspiring event took us to the heart of failure and transformation, with renowned speakers from various fields sharing their personal stories of setbacks and lessons learned. Discussions ranged from societal perceptions of failure, considerations when building and managing a startup, to others. It felt good to talk openly about setbacks, such discussions are necessary to feel better about failure and to dare more!

Seeds of Innovation / Waves of Changes

On November 14th 2024, the French Institute of Greece in Athens hosted the "Seeds of Innovation, Waves of Change" event. This gathering was an enlightening exploration of advancements in Agrifood, Energy, Tourism, and Maritime sectors. Bringing together industry leaders from France and Greece, the event shined a spotlight on innovative practices and companies, facilitating engaging discussions and valuable networking opportunities.

Diverse Leaders Innovating Today

On October 12th 2023 at the French Embassy in Athens, we celebrated "Diverse Leaders Innovating Today." The event delved into the world of early-stage startups and highlighted the notable advancements made by women in healthcare and biotech. Discussions spanned topics from the changing landscape of leadership in varied corporate environments to the forward-thinking perspectives of investors in technology. A focal point was the transformative impact of diversity in fresh teams and entrepreneurial endeavors.
